Solar Eclipse
Pupils and staff braved the cold (and drizzle) on the Astroturf to watch the Solar Eclipse this morning. Armed with solar glasses, we looked bravely into the cloud but unfortunately did not really experience the effect. We used a light monitor to measure the effect and we all felt the significant drop in temperature. A bit disappointing that the weather was not more favourable but memorable to be part of such a rare event and for most of our pupils, it was their first experience of a solar eclipse.
We all got a second chance at 10.30 a.m. when the cloud finally cleared. The pupils and staff were alerted and hugely excited to see the final stages, last contact, as the moon slipped away from the sun.
