Our Assembly today focused on responsibility both global and local.

Part 1 :

The Eco School's Committee shared their work to date and announced the projects they were following through.  The projects were decided by pupil votes taken at PSE lessons on a range of options.

Litter is a compulsory project.  Work has begun on arranging a rota for pupils to take responsibility for litter on the Astro Turf during their use in break periods and on promoting the use of the numerous bins between the school and the shop.

The other projects chosen were:

to improve the school grounds and biodiversity by replacing dead trees and building bird boxes and alos to get involved with the RSPB Big Birdwatrch Programme with Strontian Primary School

to enhance the pupil social areas with new benches/seating

Part 2 :

A presentation on the Holocaust Memorial Day and a focus on future responsibility was appreciately received by the pupils who recognised the importance of the message from the day.
