Our annual musical 'tour' with a one night only venue took place on Tuesday 18th November in Strontian Village Hall. This one night only special sharing our pupils' musical talent this year was a great success wth parents and community members enjoying a selection of entertaining traditional and current musical pieces
Rona Nicolson, our talented young piper, introduced the evening and was followed by a song with Guitar accompaniment from our S1 pupils Janie Patterson and Charlotte Adam Prosser. Kate Bradley and Charlie Pleming followed with a beautiful Clarsach medley and with a different tone, Anna Jackson and Rachel Bolton followed with a performance of the 'Cup Song'. Our talented S6 duo ended the first half, with two songs from Rory Malcolm, keyboard and vocal and Gregor Smart, Guitar and Vocals.
The second half opened with our vocalist and guitarist S5 Kathleen Robertson accompanied by Jamie Begg S6 on accoustic Guitar, followed up by 3s a Crowd, Lewis Hervo S6, vocalist, Matthew Bradley S5 percussion and Gregor Smart S6 on Guitar. An extra in the form of a solo on guitar from Jamie Begg, surprised us all!
The evening ended with some traditional music from 'Bradford' with Joanne Ford S6 and Claire Ford S4 on fiddles, Kate Bradley S3 on Clarsach and Fiddle and Matthew Bradley S5 on percussion and guitar.
What an amazing talent our young people have and we will miss the musical talents of our S6 who move onto their adult lives in June 2015. However, each year seems to bring an equal amount of talent to our Village Hall events and we hope to be able to offer an equally exciting collection next year!
Thanks to all parents, staff and community members who supported the event.
