The Gaidhlig medium pupils have been busy on their film G projects again this year producing two films which highlight their imagination, creativity and strong use of the language. The theme this year was ‘Buidhe’ or ‘Yellow’ which encouraged film-makers to interpret this word in any way they desired.
The S1 and S2 GM pupils were involved in a production called ‘Cuirt nan Dathan’ which focuses on the decision by God to get rid of one of the colours of the spectrum - each colour has two minutes to justify their existence or face being removed forever ! The second ‘Gaidhlig sa Chiste’ ( Gaelic in the coffin’) is an independent production is by S4 GM student Parker Dawes who has achieved great success in the competition in recent years. Again Parker fails to disappoint with his thought provoking short animated film on the place of Gaidhlig in an increasingly monolingual world.
